Before every pilot night
- Set an independent backup alarm. Use the device's clock alarm or, for a time-critical morning, a second device.
- Check the saved wake plan. Confirm the displayed local date, time, time zone, recurrence, and next scheduled wake.
- Keep the phone powered. Charge it overnight and confirm the intended speaker or audio route is available.
- Keep permissions enabled. Do not remove the alarm, notification, full-screen, or approved restriction permissions requested during setup.
- Run the in-app readiness check. If the build shows a warning, resolve it before treating the night as a valid pilot run.
Do not wait for Daybreak email support. Use the in-app Emergency exit, the phone's own system controls, or restart the device when necessary. Contact local emergency services for an actual emergency.
If an alarm is late, silent, or missing
Preserve the evidence before rescheduling if it is safe to do so. Email us with:
- iPhone or Android device model and operating-system version;
- Daybreak build number;
- scheduled local date, time, and time zone;
- the next-wake and readiness status shown before sleep;
- whether the phone restarted, updated, lost power, or changed zones;
- whether sound was routed to Bluetooth, headphones, or a speaker; and
- what appeared on screen and what sound, if any, you heard.
Do not include passwords, access codes, medical details, or another person's private information.
Night Arc controls
The timer did not start
That is expected until you tap Ready to sleep. Selecting a duration, starting a preview sound, saving the nightly schedule, or reaching sunset does not start the timer.
The screen is quiet and controls disappeared
Tap the sleep view once to reveal scene and sound controls. Revealing them does not restart the sound or reset the running timer. At timer zero, sound stops and the screen remains black until you deliberately wake the Night Arc view.
I need to leave Committed Night
Use Emergency exit. Daybreak's commitment tools are not intended to block emergency access, and safe restriction cleanup should happen immediately. There is no advance “Skip tonight” action; change or disable the recurring schedule for future nights.
Future horizon contribution inquiries
Reviewed-media contribution is deferred for v1. Public upload, review, and catalog routes are unavailable. You may email to ask about a future program, but the inquiry is not a submission, acceptance, or publication promise, and a reply is not guaranteed. Do not send a video, image, or other media as an email attachment.
What is live today?
Director Studio and the public browser prototype model 17 horizons with real solar geometry, simulated weather, and procedural scenes. They do not represent public live camera feeds. The first physical camera must pass its availability, freshness, privacy, recovery, and deletion soak before Daybreak labels it LIVE.
